 "The Great Wall" is a 2016 fantasy action film directed by Zhang Yimou. The movie is set in ancient China and revolves around a European mercenary, William Garin, played by Matt Damon, who becomes embroiled in a battle against a horde of monstrous creatures known as the Tao Tei that attack the Great Wall of China. William and his companion, Pero Tovar, played by Pedro Pascal, join the Chinese warriors in defending the wall against the relentless monsters. Throughout the film, they uncover the secrets of the Great Wall and the true purpose behind its construction.
